I Love Pirates
I’m not sure what it is , but I think there is something up when it comes to this pirate fad that we are in. I guess it has a lot to do with the somewhat current popularity of the Pirates of the Carribbean movies. It feels like everywhere I go that I notice there are pirate merchandise for sale. When I go to a birthday party for someone’s child, I usually see pirate party supplies there. It seems as if kids and adults alike love pirates, and I suppose I cannot blame them. If every pirate looked like Johnny Depp, I would probably get more into the fad as well .
It is not that I don’t like pirates, because I definitely do. But when there is a skull and cross bones on every product you see out there it becomes a bit too much . My husband really likes the whole pirate thing, and so do his friends. My husband is twenty five years old, so he is still young enough to enjoy this fad but getting slightly too old to really get into it as much as he’d like to. I think one thing I might do to take advantage of this pirate craze is buy and wear a pirate wench costume to surprise him. He would definitely like that.
My hubby ’s birthday is coming up, and I am thinking of throwing him a pirate themed birthday party. Adults like to dress up and act like pirates, right?! I think it could be cool to have this as favors at the party so that even if people don’t dress up they can have something to wear that will make them look more like a pirate. Eye patches would be a good idea for party favors as well. I haven’t pitched this idea to my husband yet, so I’m not totally sure if he’ll be up for it. I guess we will see, and I hope he on board !
